Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean

Compared to Curacao, in Bonaire you have free beaches everywhere, where for most beaches in Curacao you have to pay. But both islands have supermarket prices comparible with Norway. Where a cowley flower costs 4 euros in Curacao it costs 3 dollars in Bonaire. No problem for me I always like eating local food like kousenband f.i., just cut it in pieces and you have European beans.

Although most things are expensive, meat is cheap and of very good quality, coming from Argentina. So guess what I ate today?

Tropical fish is there as soon as you put your feet in the water. Even big fishes swim near the shore. Bonaire has some coral and is replanting coral too.

I am staying at Coco Palm Gardens. Here some pictures.

I will for sure stay here again. It is located in a quiet area, just 15 minutes cycling from town. They are very helpful, bought some food for me at arrival, gave me plenty of towels to cover my bed to prevent my nylon allergy. A big 10 for this.

But there us one point to better. Now everybody has to buy 1 kg of salt, 1 ltr of baking oil etc etc, also for just 3 days. What is left of these kitchen necessities is thrown away. Can you see this mountain of salt, oil etc ? Not good for the environment. Why not giving it away, if not let it stay in the kitchen for the next visitor, to someone in need on the island?
